Certificate

More new jobs will be created in health care than any other industry through 2014.* A career as a pharmacy technician is for you if you'd like to assist a licensed pharmacist in preparing medications and other health care products for patients. In this position, you will find your workday filled with a variety of duties. Besides filling prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you may also establish and maintain patient profiles, prepare insurance claim forms, and stock and take inventory of prescription and over-the-counter medications. If you'd like to enter this rewarding profession, get in touch with us at TESST College today.

Career Preparation

The Pharmacy Technician Certificate program will prepare you with the knowledge, technical skills, and work habits required in this field. Some of the courses include pharmacy law and procedures, hospital policies and procedures, and sterile product preparation. Prior to graduation, you are required to complete an externship at a local retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, residential pharmacy, or other pharmaceutical facility. This practical work experience can make you a more desirable job candidate.

This program has also been designed to help you prepare for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination (PTCE) sponsored by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).†
